We drew a premier league giant in the shape of Hartlepool youth for the second round of the cup. The full squad knew we’d be up against it but wanted to keep our shape, our efforts up and the right attitude.

The first half started off as planned 5 at the back and with our visitors dominating the ball in our half. We were unlucky to concede a penalty, but were lucky that we had Henry in goal, who pulled off a remarkable double save.
We went in 3 down at half time thanks to 2 tight offside calls and a decent effort. In truth we were playing fairly well- but we just weren’t at the level of Hartlepool.

As the second half wore on the pressure continued to build and our opponents put the pedal down and a raft of goals ensued. As the game entered the last quarter tired legs and weary heads gave away a spate of free kicks which we were punished from.

The scores ended up 0-8, but in fairness the lads never stopped, worked for each other; kept their shape and desire right until the final whistle. Best of luck to Hartlepool in the next round.
