Darlington Town taught Wolviston F.C. a footballing lesson in how to finish by scoring 7 goals with consumate ease to progress in the Alan Hood Charity Cup. The visitors started and finished on top and it fell to Elliott Coils in the home goal to keep us in the game in the first 10 mins. The shot stopper and man of the match made 3 tremendous saves in succession denying Jim Wilson, James Beauchamp and Brennan Fitzpatrick. Wolvistons first chance fell to Jake Stott on 12 mins who saw his angled drive well pushed away by home keeper Cameron Hall. Darlington deservedly took the lead on 23 mins after a half hearted clearance by Wolviston was pounced upon by Cameron Holliday who struck home from close range. Coils on 25 mins made another stunning save from Beauchamp by tipping away his close in strong shot. Wolviston however did equalise on 31 mins after good interpassing by James Stanger and Callum Blair was rewarded with Aaron Dale stroking home also from close range. Darlington immediately retook the lead within a minute after a cross from Lewis Walton found Holliday who bundled home his second again from close range.

Within 5 mins of the restart Darlington increased their lead with a superb strike from the edge of the box by Beauchamp who turned and shot in one movement. 15 mins later Darlington went further in front when Beauchamp beat the offside trap and calmly stroked home leaving the Wolviston defence in his wake. This was followed 4 mins later with Coils finger tipping a shot onto the bar from Beauchamp but unfortunately the rebound fell to Jim Wilson who tapped into an open net. In a rare attack by Wolviston Blair was clean through on goal but shot wide from close range. Beauchamp then hit the post with Darlington totally commanding the game. In the 75th min Beauchamp completed his hat trick with an easy finish from close range. The scoring was completed in the 80th min when a free kick conceded by new boy Tobechukwu Enweygwu making his debut was punished and Darlington centre half Ryan Coles scored with a header at the far post.
