Facing tough opposition with Bishops playing in the league above Wolviston were expecting a difficult game in this 1st round of the Durham Trophy. It was the visitors who started on the front foot and a shot after only 5 mins by Chris McNab went wide followed minutes later with Ellis Hallimond shooting over the bar with Bishops in the ascendency. This spurred Wolvo into action and good interplay on 35 mins by Bailey Geldhart, Jae Wilson and Jamie Roberts ended with Geldharts final cross cleared for a corner. The corner from Robbie was met with power by Josh Thornton but his header was well saved by visiting keeper Evon Lockwood. In reply Ellis Hallimond for Bishops found himself with only keeper Andy Jennings to beat but inexplicably shot wide. On 41 mins a shot by Jamie Roberts was handled by defender Jude Bowes and ref Josh Hart awarded a penalty. Jae Wilson coolly slotted home with confidence to put Wolvo into a half time lead.

In a quick counter attack a cross by Callum Blair was narrowly missed with a brave diving header from Lewis Snaith. On 60 mins a shot from Roberts went wide followed by Elliott Mavi trying his luck with a curling shot which also went narrowly wide. On 70 mins ping pong in the Bishops box with Blair and Roberts taking it in turn to shoot ended with the latter finally shooting home from close range. Bishops pushed strongly towards the end of the game and a shot from Jay Bell smashed off the post and bounced into the grateful arms of keeper Jennings. With 7 mins remaining Bishops hit the woodwork again this time with James Whales smashing the bar.
