The Villagers defeat Hetton Juniors 11-0 in the Clem Smith Bowl.

With Wolviston expecting a comfortable win it came as a surprise when Hetton started on the front foot and in only the second minute Colby Wellinger tested keeper Alex Carey who saved at the second attempt followed by the shot stopper diving to his left to push a shot from Teejay Smith onto the post and away for a corner. In a quick counter on 8 mins a corner from Robbie Gratton was superbly headed home by Lewis Snaith. Another corner 2 mins later again from Gratton was headed down by Lewis Snaith into the path of Jamie Roberts who made no mistake from close range to increase Wolvos lead. On 20 mins a twisting, turning mazy run by Callum Blair came to nothing when his final effort went wide. On 24 mins a deep cross from the right by Ewan Mitchell found David Johnson at the far post to smash home despite a good effort at saving by Hettons keeper Craig Sadler. On 40 mins an accurate corner this time from Jae Wilson found central defender Chris Cotterill who rose majestically to power home his header to score Wolvos fourth. On the stroke of half time Roberts saw his strong shot well saved by keeper Sadler.
H.T. 4-0
Four minutes into the second period Roberts was upended in the box to win a penalty which Jae Wilson coolly converted.
On 64 mins with Wolviston now cruising it came as quite a surprise that Hettons Lewis Sillett called upon home keeper Carey to save with his legs. A solo run by Elliott Pledger was rewarded in the 75th min when his strong shot from the outside of his foot deflected into the net off the post. On 72 mins a left footed cross from Pledger found Josh Thornton who powered home a header to increase Wolvos lead. It was that man Thornton again who after good individual footwork on 81 mins scored from close range. Two mins later a cross by Lewis Snaith fell to Jamie Roberts who made no mistake from close range to record his second of the game. With 2 mins remaining a cross from Pledger was toe poked home by Lewis Snaith to put Wolvo ahead by double figures. In the final minute of the game yet another cross by Pledger found Josh Thornton who knocked home to record a ten minute hat trick and complete the scoring.
F.T. 11-0
