In a must win game fourth bottom Wolviston played hosts to third bottom Newton Aycliffe at Metcalfe Park. The game started quite evenly with Wolviston having an early chance when Alex Snaith crossed from the left to find Robbie Gratton but sadly his header went over the bar. Aycliffe replied on 6 mins with a long range effort from Thomas Kelly which Richard Cass in the home goal held comfortably. On 18 mins Jamie Roberts burst clear but could only curl his effort wide of the post. In a quick counter attack Aycliffes Joel Gibbson tested Cass with another long range effort which the keeper held comfortably. With 10 mins of the half remaining Callum Blair found Jamie Roberts with an accurate pass who in turn fed Lewis Snaith whose strong shot was excellently saved by David Hoyle in the visitors goal. Wolvo took the lead with 2 mins remaining when a cross from Stewart Bath evaded the Aycliffe defence and the ball fell to David Johnson who poked home from close range.

With only 2 mins of the 2nd period played a cross from Gratton found Roberts whose shot was parried by Hoyle into the path of Blair who netted from close range but his effort was ruled out for off side. Wolviston increased their lead on 50 mins when an angled pile driver from skipper Jae Wilson deflected off an Aycliffe defender and over keeper Hoyle. Cain Swanson for Aycliffe headed over the bar after a cross by Liam Walton. On 70 mins an accurate cross from the right by Blair found Johnson but he blazed over. The action came to an end with 2 mins remaining when Elliot Mavi found himself clean through but missed the target.
